How Extension Length Is Measured

Length is measured from the top of the weft, tab or clip base down to the tip of the hair, held straight. Curly and wavy textures are measured the same way — pulled straight — so once they are styled they will sit noticeably shorter than the number on the label. If you want a curly set to finish at a particular point, size up.

Where Each Length Tends To Fall

A rough guide only. Where a length actually lands depends on your height, your own hair length and how high the piece is installed, so treat this as a starting point rather than a promise.

The Application Types We Carry

Tape-in

Thin wefts sandwiched around your own hair with medical-grade adhesive tabs. They lie flat, so they sit well under fine hair, and they are the quickest of the three to apply.

Genius weft

A thin, machine-made weft with no return hair, so it can be cut anywhere along its length without unravelling. Sewn or beaded in, and popular where a custom width is needed.

Clip-in

Wefts on pressure clips that you put in and take out yourself. No appointment, no adhesive, and no commitment — the right pick if you want length for an occasion rather than for months.

How Much Hair Will I Need?

As a rule of thumb: added fullness on hair you already like takes less than adding real length, and the longer the set, the more hair it takes to keep the ends looking thick rather than wispy. Going more than about six inches past your own length is where a set starts to look see-through at the bottom, so that is usually the point to add a second pack.
